Donald Trump said that President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are partially to blame for the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene on MAGA supporters.
On Monday, September 30, at his meeting with Kellyanne Conway, Trump seemed to imply that the present government was deliberately withholding resources from "Republican areas," NBC News reported.
"We have a problem in North Carolina. We had a big hurricane and really hurt a lot of my voters. And I hope—I hope that my voters, I mean, they lost their homes and they’re being treated horribly by Biden and Harris ... Very little relief. They’re going out of their way to hurt these people," he informed Conway.
"And I hope they just say, 'We’re going to get you and we’re going to— we’re going to not let—' You know they’re being treated very badly in the Republican areas in North Carolina. The government is treating ’em very— it’s a— it’s a Democrat," he uttered, his words tripping over themselves multiple times.
Continuing, the 78-year-old politician asserted that Republican areas hit by the hurricane have not been "getting water" or "anything" else, and he expressed his hope that the locals will be motivated to vote for him by alleged maltreatment.
"I hope they’re going to say 'We’re going out to vote. We’re going to get rid of these people because they have destroyed our country. The good news, I’m going to fix it. But if we have another four years like this, it’s no longer we have no country. It’s no longer fixable," he proclaimed.
According to earlier reports from OK! Magazine, Hurricane Helene has wreaked havoc in numerous states, such as Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia. There are hundreds of people who have not been found yet, and 130 have been confirmed deceased.
The former president's opponent in the presidential race, Kamala Harris, paid a visit to FEMA headquarters in Washington, DC, on Monday, as per The Guardian.
She expressed her deep sorrow over the destruction, saying it was "heartbreaking." She and Biden promised to assist the affected areas in getting back on their feet, saying, "The true character of the nation is revealed in moments of hardship."
Ahead of this week's clean-up operations, President Biden pledged to "surge resources, including food, water, communications and life saving equipment" despite Trump's claims that the present government has not assisted the impacted regions.
This comes after Trump was criticized for his statement that "nobody thought" the huge storm would hit, even though it is still regarded to be "peak" hurricane season until late October.
According to one X user, "Hurricane season won't be over for almost 2 months. What a dunce," and another chimed in, "I swear I lose brain cells listening to this man."
