Big ego Kim Kardashian has been outgrowing her family in terms of money and influence, and insiders say she's now ruffling mom Kris Jenner's feathers in a power war to be queen of the clan.

The 43-year-old big-bootied Skims founder believes that she deserves more respect than she is currently receiving, particularly from her mother, Kris, who is 68 years old.

“Kim has always insisted she's the hardest-working member of the family and it's hard to ignore her claim since she's now risen to a different level than the rest of them," the source revealed to GLOBE Magazine.

"She's producing a documentary on Elizabeth Taylor, plus her acting career is finally getting legs and she's doing all her legal advocacy work. It's all a lot more prestigious than what any of her sisters are doing," the informant added.

The aspiring attorney, who has already established a name for herself as a reality star and a business wiz, has also become a champion for criminal justice, as per USA Today.

She recently visited parent killers Erik and Lyle Menendez in prison after the release of Ryan Murphy's most recent episode in the “Monster” series, Forbes reported. Kim also met with Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, who was serving an eight-year prison sentence for arranging the murder of her mother, Dee Dee. Blanchard was sentenced to prison for her role in the murder of her mother.

The next thing on her agenda is a documentary about her Hollywood idol, Elizabeth Taylor. She was an executive producer on the BBC series “Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar.”

Kim gushed, "I was always drawn to Elizabeth Taylor. " She got the last published interview with the movie legend before she passed away in 2011 at the age of 79.

"We were actually supposed to meet up for tea at her house, and then she fell ill," the mom of four recalled.

After some time had passed, they had a phone conversation, as Kim explained, "We were talking about fighting for people." She was aware of both her strength and her attractiveness.

With all this on her plate, Kim "doesn't feel like she gets enough credit from her family for taking them along on this ride with her," the insider said. "She resents how entitled they are. They don't really show her much respect and she wants to change that. In her view, she should be the boss."

Kris does not take kindly to the idea that this would imply taking away her mother's position as head of the family. In fact, the momager thinks Kim needs to show more appreciation to her, the spy chuckled.

The insider added that Kris' networking and astute managerial abilities are the reason Kim is where she is now. She is standing her ground and insisting that Kim treat her with greater dignity. Their disagreement has escalated into an open conflict, which is causing tension between them and everyone around them. Their family gatherings are awkward, as expected.
