His passing took aback many who were close to Liam Payne and are now having to come to grips with how "bad" of a place he was in when he passed away at the age of 31, a new report claimed.

“There’s a collective sense of stunned disbelief within his inner circle. The scale of grief is impossible to process, let alone put into words. It’s becoming increasingly evident that he was in a very bad place mentally," the source told In Touch Weekly.

October 16th saw Liam take his own life by jumping out the balcony of a hotel room located on the third story in Argentina. Five days later, sources told ABC News that a partial autopsy and toxicology report revealed that the One Direction alum had various drugs in his system, including cocaine, benzodiazepine, crack and “pink cocaine,” a recreational drug that typically mixes methamphetamine, ketamine and MDMA.

On the day that Liam passed away, the hotel called 911 to report an unnamed "aggressive man possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol." The hotel was the one that made the call. According to the person who called, "When he is conscious, he breaks, and he is breaking the entire room." "Well, we are in need of someone to be sent by you, please."

Liam had already passed away before the police got to the site, and the injuries he had were "incompatible with life," according to statements made by officials.

In the meantime, tests conducted on a white powder discovered in Liam's hotel room were deemed "inconclusive," as reported by the Argentine national news portal Infobae. Forensic toxicologist Fernando Cardini said that Liam’s death may not have been intentional because being in a different country may have triggered the “substance-induced,” “semi-conscious,” or “unconscious” state that led him to jump.

According to Cardini, there was a scenario in which a person consumed drugs; however, because they were in a different nation, it is possible that the drug they consumed did not have the same concentration as the drug that they had purchased. The possibility exists that that overcame him.

In Touch also reported that the authorities did not discover any evidence of self-defense. Cardini also explained, saying, "Someone who is committing suicide has the instinct of putting his hands out to protect himself before falling."

At the time of his passing, Liam was traveling alone in Argentina, Sky News reported. His parents, two sisters, fiancée Kate Cassidy, and son Bear, who is seven years old and whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Cheryl, who was once known as Cheryl Cole, are among those who survive him.

A source for In Touch claimed that Cheryl is inconsolable but is trying to maintain her strength for their young son. Bear was the object of Liam's unconditional love. It is heartbreaking that he will have to grow up without him nearby.
