When questioned about their separation while out in Calabasas, California, on Thursday, Brian told TMZ, "I didn't even know."
After learning that Megan discovered text conversations with other women on MGK's phone prior to ending things, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" alumnus then let out an audible sigh.
"How old is he? ... He's in his 30s, isn't he? ... But in your 30s, like, f-k. Grow up. Like, she's pregnant," the actor said.
Brian continued by expressing his support for the "Transformers" actress. Brian was married to Megan from 2010 until 2021.
"I just want the best for her," he said. "I want the best for the baby. I want the best for our kids. That's a shame."
The ex-couples have three kids together: Journey, age 8, Bodhi, age 10, and Noah, age 12.
In addition, Brian, 51, stated his dissatisfaction with MGK, 34, and the text message controversy that allegedly happened two weeks after Megan, 38, made public her pregnancy with the musician's first child.
He told TMZ of Megan's pregnancy, which comes a year after she came out about having a miscarriage in the past, "I'm heartbroken about it because I know she's been so excited."
"And the kids are so excited for life and the change and all of that," he added.
The father of five described the situation as "tragic," but he said he doesn't know "the facts" behind Megan's breakup with MGK.
MGK "decided to go through his phone" on their Thanksgiving trip, which is why the author of "Pretty Boys Are Poisonous" ended their relationship, according to a source who previously told Page Six.
Megan "became suspicious" and later "found text messages involving other women and decided she was done."
The insider said that during their affair, the pregnant mother and MGK (real name Colson Baker) had "trust issues" because of past behavior.

On November 11, Megan, who became engaged to MGK in 2022, revealed her pregnancy on Instagram.

A black-and-white picture of her positive pregnancy test was also posted by her.
