Ivanka Trump made a brief return to Washington, D.C., this week to support her father, President Donald Trump, during his address before a joint session of Congress. While she has distanced herself from politics since leaving the White House in 2021, the former senior adviser to the president emphasized her continued personal support for her father.

Trump, 42, was accompanied by her husband, Jared Kushner, and shared glimpses of her visit on social media. She posted photos with her siblings-Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Tiffany Trump-and their spouses, as well as snapshots of Washington landmarks, including the Washington Monument and The Gettysburg Address.

"48 hours in D.C.!" she captioned the post, which also included a candid image of herself and her father, smiling as they toasted with drinks in what appeared to be a private residence.

Her trip comes as she continues to affirm that she has no intention of resuming a political role. In a recent interview on The Skinny Confidential podcast, she described the presidency as "the world's loneliest position" and expressed relief at stepping away from the political arena.

"The enormity of the decisions you're making on a daily basis, how transactional everyone is with you... it's a very lonely perch," Trump said. "I'm most looking forward to just being able to show up for him as a daughter."

She also reflected on her experiences in Washington, saying, "Unfortunately... there is a darkness to that world that I don't really want to welcome into mine. You become a little bit calloused."

Despite her decision to leave politics, Trump was seen in a prominent role at her father's congressional address, seated next to Kushner. She wore a navy blue Oscar de la Renta ensemble featuring floral embroidery on the blazer, accessorized with pearl earrings and wavy hair.

Kushner, dressed in a traditional black suit with a striped tie, was also seen wearing a red string bracelet, which some observers noted has been a fixture in his public appearances.

Trump's presence in Washington raises speculation about whether she may play a behind-the-scenes role in her father's reelection campaign. However, she has repeatedly emphasized her commitment to family over politics.

"I hate politics," she declared during her podcast interview. "It's very dark, negative. And some people love the gladiator aspect of it, the fight. That was never me."
