Kanye West sparked renewed controversy over the weekend after publicly stating he regrets having children with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, while also reigniting a high-profile custody dispute over their eldest daughter, North. The remarks came during an interview with DJ Akademiks, in which West appeared wearing an outfit resembling Ku Klux Klan attire, including a pointed hood-drawing widespread condemnation online.

"Absolutely, I did. That was my fault. No, that was my fault," West said when asked about choosing Kardashian as a partner. "I didn't want to have children with this person after the first two months of being with them, but that wasn't God's plan."

The 47-year-old rapper and the Skims founder, 44, share four children: North, 11; Saint, 9; Chicago, 7; and Psalm, 5. Their relationship, which ended in divorce in 2022, has continued to generate public friction, especially over co-parenting issues.

In the interview, West also confirmed he moved forward with releasing a track featuring North and embattled music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, despite Kardashian's objections. Combs is currently facing sex trafficking charges in New York.

Kardashian, according to messages reportedly obtained by TMZ, told West that North could not appear in the song due to her name being trademarked. "I asked you at the time if I can trademark her name. You said yes. When she's 18, it goes to her. So stop," she allegedly wrote. "I sent paperwork over so she wouldn't be in the Diddy song to protect her."

Following the dispute, West posted on X (formerly Twitter), writing, "Yes I have beef with people that froze my account took my kids away and tried to put me in jail AND ITS STUCK."

He continued his tirade against Kardashian and her family, writing, "I DONT WANT TO JUST 'SEE' MY KIDS. I NEED TO RAISE THEM. I NEED TO HAVE SAY SO OF WEAR THEY GO TO SCHOOL AND WHO THEIR FRIENDS ARE AND WHOS HOUSES THEY SLEEP OVER WEATHER MY DAUGHTERS WEAR LIPSTICK AND PERFUME ALL THESE RIGHTS HAVE BEEN TAKEN FROM ME BY THE KARDASHIAN MOB HULU AND DISNEY AND THE BIGGER AGENDA TO USE THE SELECTIVELY BRED BLACK CHILDREN TO BE PLATFORMS TO INFLUENCE BLACK PEOPLE."

According to Page Six, Kardashian is reportedly considering modifying her custody arrangement following concerns about the environment in which North spends time with West. The outlet reported that she recently ended a visit early after learning that Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate-both of whom face ongoing charges related to human trafficking and rape-would be present.

A source close to Kardashian told Page Six, "Kim's priority is the well-being and safety of her children and to protect them from being around Kanye's controversial behavior."
