Rumors surrounding BTS's V (Kim Taehyung) and IVE's Jang Wonyoung have resurfaced after online users circulated a new set of alleged "proof" suggesting the two K-pop stars are dating - claims that many fans quickly dismissed as unfounded.
The latest speculation began when a post from Chinese platform Douban, shared by a user named @momo, compiled what it called a "proof list," highlighting coincidences between the idols' social media posts and appearances at events. The post quickly spread across Twitter, Weibo, and Korean community forums, reigniting months-old dating chatter between the BTS member and the IVE singer.
Among the alleged evidence were photos from Seoul's SAN Restaurant, where both V and Wonyoung reportedly posted images of identical glassware and dishes within a day of each other. Another claim pointed to Wonyoung's photo at a marble dining table, which some users insisted resembled the décor of V's residence. Fans also claimed she shared a noodle dish believed to be one of V's favorites.
Fueling further debate, online users noted that Wonyoung had used several songs during livestreams that V had previously recommended to fans. Both were also seen in Los Angeles during KCON, leading some to suggest the pair's simultaneous schedules were more than coincidental.
Separately, another thread gained traction after fans highlighted two unrelated interviews filmed during Paris Fashion Week - one featuring V at the CELINE event, where he mentioned trying a pistachio croissant, and another showing Wonyoung at MIU MIU, where she also said she wanted the same pastry. The parallel led to speculation that the two had shared the same treat, though many called the link absurd.
"If they both just enjoyed their food, that's fine. I get what the haters were trying to imply with posts like this, though, lol," one user wrote on a Korean forum. Others were more blunt: "You old gossiping ladies, stop trying to connect them already." Another comment read, "Isn't V almost like an uncle to her? It's weird that people are trying to link them."
So far, neither HYBE, BTS's management company, nor Starship Entertainment, which represents IVE, has issued a statement. "They just went out separately to eat something good - why make such a big deal out of it?"
Despite the agencies' silence, the rumor continues to dominate fan discussions, dividing online communities between those convinced of a secret relationship and those weary of the endless "Lovestagram" analyses that have long shadowed high-profile K-pop stars.
