King Charles III has reportedly severed direct communication with his younger brother Prince Andrew, according to palace insiders who say the British monarch is increasingly relying on aides and intermediaries to manage contact with the scandal-plagued royal as fallout tied to Jeffrey Epstein continues to destabilize the House of Windsor.
The reported breakdown in communication marks the latest sign of Andrew's growing isolation from the core of the royal family following years of controversy surrounding his relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
According to individuals described as close to palace operations, Andrew has recently attempted to reassure the royal household that he has no intention of leaving the United Kingdom while investigations connected to Epstein-related matters continue. Those messages, however, are reportedly being passed indirectly through royal staff rather than communicated personally to the King.
Buckingham Palace has not publicly commented on the claims, and there has been no official confirmation that Charles has formally cut off direct contact with his brother. Even so, the reports reinforce a broader perception that Andrew has become increasingly marginalized inside the monarchy.
The rupture reportedly accelerated after renewed scrutiny surrounding Andrew's past relationship with Epstein intensified earlier this year following the release of additional Epstein-linked documents and renewed media attention surrounding the Duke of York's previous public statements.
One email reportedly cited in recent coverage allegedly showed Andrew telling Epstein in 2011: "We are in this together," a message that critics argue contradicted earlier claims that the prince had distanced himself from Epstein much sooner.
Andrew has consistently denied wrongdoing connected to Epstein and has repeatedly rejected accusations linked to his former association with the financier.
The scandal has already dramatically reshaped Andrew's royal status. In 2022, Queen Elizabeth II stripped him of military affiliations and royal patronages after public outrage intensified over allegations brought by Virginia Giuffre, who accused Andrew of sexually abusing her when she was 17.
