It was announced, a few weeks ago, that Prince William and Kate Middleton will visit Australia sometime in March. The said tour came after Prime Minister Scott Morrison reportedly prepared for an invitation to the royals to support the "bushfire-ravaged communities" in the country.
Several reports noted that the audience in various communities of the commonwealth nation is already excited for the arrival of the Cambridge couple. While speculations over the planned tour have continued to develop since then, it was recently shared that this may no longer happen anytime soon.
According to Mirror UK, Kensington Palace just revealed that the plans for Prince William and Kate Middleton's upcoming Australia Tour may be put on hold for a while. This comes after the number of coronavirus cases across the globe have continued to spike up in recent weeks.
As per claims, the virus, which is now called CoVID-19 has already infected over 100,000 individuals all over the world. In Australia, dozens of citizens are said to have tested positive for the virus.
No confirmations have been made yet about the royal couple's visit. However, the reports shared that the palace is now in talks with the Prime Minister of Australia, and currently reviewing whether it is still safe to continue with the tour.
It was noted by the same publication that Prince William and Kate Middleton always utilize commercial flights when they are outside the United Kingdom. Also, it was stated that their arrival in the country may encourage the attraction of "large crowd," which are all factors to increasing the risks of getting infected for both the royals and the audience.
As added by New Idea, the British Royal Family, especially the seniors are all taking the outbreak as a "serious matter." It was further claimed by a royal source that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are strictly following the guidelines that the UK's National Health Authority has imposed to prevent the spread of the virus.
The family's compliance with the guidelines became even much more apparent when Queen Elizabeth II was recently reported to wear a pair of gloves during the recent investiture inside Buckingham Palace. The reports explained that, while no comment was given about the matter, this was the first time that the monarch was seen wearing gloves for the said event.
As for Prince William and Kate Middleton, it seemingly appears that they have continued to do their duties and responsibilities these past few months amid all the struggles and challenges. They were even repeatedly praised and commended for their dedication and hard work, especially now that the monarchy has been facing a lot of trials.
