European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said that China’s economy should be more open to foreign firms. "There is still time to prevent conflict and chaos," he added.
During the press conference in Beijing, Mr. Juncker said that "If China wishes to open up, it can do so. It knows how to open up" then conflict and chaos can still be prevented. The country is always criticized as for being an advocate towards foreign companies. Thus, if the country will take his advice then they really could help to sort things out.
Donald Tusk, President of the European Council accompanied Mr. Juncker who also warned Russia, U.S., and China that if they will continue to worsen the trade tension then more or else all of these could lead only to conflict.
He encouraged the three countries that instead of worsening the situation they would rather work together with EU in order to resolve the global trade problems. He believes that the international order should start with a responsible reform.
The visit of Mr. Juncker and Mr. Tusk in Beijing for EU-China summit has produced results in which both sides are committing to a joint global trading system. In accordance to this, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang asked the foreign companies if they have an experienced from any theft of intellectual property in which the U.S. has a complaint against China’s trading system. Moreover, he stressed out to maintain free trading.
Furthermore, China has already filed the official complaint against the new tariff trades by the U.S. Just last week, the U.S. Listed $200 billion products to be penalized on September.
