The Ministry of Veterans Affairs of China increases the pension allowances of handicapped soldiers, state officials, police officers, and militia members by 10 percent from Aug. 1, China’s Army Day. The ministry will also take care of the memorials and graves of the country’s servicemen and women.
The mentioned duties were previously handled by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of Civil Affairs together with the handling of their retirements benefits as well as processing of their pensions, and helping ex-soldiers to find a new job and will provide training to them.
China never forgets the family members of the martyrs as well as deceased soldiers for they will get the same increase. Hence, they are reviewing all the policies as well as the regulations about the veterans welfare. Sun Shaocheng, minister of veterans affairs said that China is thinking about drafting a law that will benefit the well-being of the veterans of the new era.
The Ministry of Veterans Affairs will give assistance to more than 80,000 ex-servicemen as well as women. Nearly 40, 000 veterans have found new jobs as of this year. China decided to acknowledge millions of families who have loved ones in the military service as well as those who had families who sacrificed their lives in protecting the country. In accordance to this, the ministry is planning to issue plaques of honor exclusively to the families of all the martyrs as well as those who volunteered their service for the nation before May 1, 2019.
The Ministry is a newly found establishment started in April which will be responsible in the state institutional reforms and will cover wide-ranging parties. It is formed in order to provide a broader government and restructuring. Its major intention is to set-up a more centralized system and to make policies as well as regulations which will assist veterans efficiently.
This only proves that despite the U.S.-China trade war, the ministers of the country are still focused about the welfare of the Chinese people regardless if they are alive or if they lose their lives because of service. This is just a start for the ministry, they still have many planned programs for the people of China. They aim to provide what they truly deserve in exchange for their love of the country. Furthermore, their family will never be forgotten as well.
