China is setting another challenge in the field of science and technology as it will venture to Hyperloop Tracks in its mountainous southwest portion.

This is a joint venture between California-based Hyperloop Transportation Technologies and a company controlled by the government of Tongren, a city located in Guizhou province of China.

Both parties will contribute 50 percent to the capital of the project.

The test track for the Hyperloop is around 10 kilometers. It can be expanded for commercial purposes as well.

The Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT) is applying Elon Musk's idea of the modern transportation system. This new type of transportation system propels capsules in vacuum-sealed tunnels or tubes with its magnetic feature.

"China leads the world in the amount of high-speed rail constructed by far, and now they are looking for a more efficient high-speed solution in hyperloop," HTT Chairman Bibop Gresta said.

The demonstration of hyperloop will be hosted by the remote city of Tongren, Guizhou province.

"We have spent the past few years finding the right partners to work within China and, now, with a strong base network of relationships in place, we are ready to begin work to create the system," Gresta averred. "HyperloopTT will be responsible for providing technology, engineering expertise, and essential equipment."

The HTT's project financing will be through a public-private partnership. Tongren will directly contribute 50 percent of the funding. Also, the Chinese partners will take charge in the procurement of needed certifications, the framework for regulations, and the physical construction of the technological system that will propel the capsule up to the speed of 1233-km/hour.

Tongren Mayor Chen Shaorong expressed his gratitude over this exciting new venture. Mayor Chen also cited that this project will pave the way for major developments in the countryside. He added that the joint project with HTT is the greatest venue to "enlarge and strengthen the local economy."

Meanwhile, the HTT has another Hyperloop route project in Abu Dhabi as well as a deal with Brno of the Czech Republic. It also takes experimentation of the same transport system in Toulouse, France. It forecasted that the system will be ready within three years.

This joint venture between HTT and the local area of Tongren is said to strengthen private and public partnership as well as to improve the transport system in China especially among its rural mountainous areas. The hyperloop can make traveling and commute more comfortable and efficient.
