The Zenfone Max Pro (M1) from Asus is branded as the Redmi Note 5 (Pro) killer, and it looks like the device will soon be made available in Europe. Though there is no official word about it from the company, the device was found listed at an online store in Spain.
The device is the latest addition to the Max lineup of the Zenfone Max Pro, a phone that boasts of a vibrant display and powerful specs. It is Asus’ ticket to redemption for the series, a reasonably priced handset that costs only $292 at the Asus Spain online store.
But, before anything else, it would be best to detail what features the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) has to offer. Up front is a 6-inch full HD display (2160x1080p pixels and 18:9 ratio). It features a bezel-less design and would initially pass a premium handset. Yugatech believes that, of all the variants in the Zenfone Max series, this one offers the best aesthetics yet.
On the inside, the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) relies on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset backed by an Adreno 509 GPU. As far as the European version is concerned, it will come with GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 2 TB via microSD. It is also dual-SIM ready and comes with a non-removable Li-Ion 5000 mAh battery. The device will come preloaded with Android 8.1 out of the box.
With regards to the cameras, the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) comes with a primary 13 MP + 5MP dual camera and a front-facing 8 MP camera. It comes with the traditional fingerprint scanner situated at the rear although a face unlocking feature is also available using the secondary cameras.
The face-unlock feature may run erratically considering it fares inconsistently when used in low-lit environments. To use this biometric feature, it would best to do it with brighter lighting.
Aside from those, the device comes with the usual features most phones carry. This includes the traditional 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0, and a micro USB port among others.
Assessing the price range opposite the features the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) carries, the device is worth considering. The device is expected to become available starting Aug. 13 in Spain.
Aside from Spain, there is no official word yet on which other countries it will be made available. Other countries that listed the device thus far include ASUS Denmark, ASUS Czech Republic, ASUS Finland and ASUS France.
