Sony is expected to reveal new handsets at IFA 2018 with the flagship XZ Series likely at the helm. However, there could be more devices that could be unveiled such as the Sony Xperia XA3.
The possibility of seeing the Sony Xperia XA3 at the IFA 2018 event this August made some headway following leaked documents from TENAA. The device was recently certified by the Eurasian Commission bearing the model number Sony H4413.
The Sony Xperia XA3 is expected to succeed the Xperia XA2, which was launched at CES 2018 back in January. For the benefit of those who may be unaware, that device sported a 5.2-inch full HD display and came with a Snapdragon 630 SoC. It is further backed by 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and offered a 23 MP primary camera and dual 16 MP + 8 MP front-facing camera.
Using those as base specs, the Sony Xperia XA3 should offer improved components, Techie Word said. Based on the leaked documents, the only thing known for now about the said device is that it will come with LTE support. It will also reportedly run on Android OS --possibly Android P) -- and offer dual standby.
The latest update from GSM Arena reveals that the Xperia XA3 will have a tall full HD screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels with an 18:9 ratio. There was no mention of how large the screen would be and if there would be added features to go with it.
Using the Xperia XA2’s specs as the baseline, there is a possibility of seeing the Xperia XA3 with a slightly better Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 chipset. It could still come out with 3 GB of RAM together with 32 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 256 GB via microSD.
It also remains to be seen if Sony will bump up the internal cameras of the Xperia XA3. Trusted Reviews speculates that the device could still come out with a 23 MP primary camera and an 8 MP front-facing shooter. Also, the device could come with support for Quick Charge 4.0 for people wary about the battery life and phone usage. It has yet to be known as well on whether Sony will improve the non-removable battery. The Xperia XA2 came with a 3,300 mAh battery.
IFA 2018 is set to take place in Berlin, Germany from Aug. 31 to Sept. 5. Until Sony confirms that the Xperia XA3 is coming, the only thing sure is the debut of the Sony Xperia XZ3.
