The first official game trailer for “Red Dead Redemption 2” is finally out, revealing the vast number of features can expect from the western-themed action-adventure video game. The six-minute trailer starts with narration and eventually sets up the tone for players to fight for survival.
The game trailer also provides players with a glimpse of things to come. This includes showing off the combat skills, game interactions and other in-game related activities for the sequel. The trailer officially rolled out today, Aug. 9, 2018, the Daily Star said.
The latest “Red Dead Redemption 2” trailer follows three previous releases. For the benefit of those who may have missed it, this is a prequel to the hit video game from Rockstar Games. The opening narration reveals how the game will rewind to the 1800s as America was evolving into one of the most powerful countries in the world.
With the suspense finally over, it will be interesting if the open-world game will break new ground. So far, Rockstar has been able to produce successful game titles. Aside from “Red Dead Redemption,” they are also the brains behind the “Grand Theft Auto” series, CNet said.
If the first installment is to be a gauge, there is a lot hanging on “Red Dead Redemption 2.” This includes a compelling storyline paired with a world that seemed to be changing via the Western world setting. Those alone add some pressure to Rockstar game developers plus the fact that sequels are rarely able to improve on initial installments.
But the twist for “Red Dead Redemption 2” is that it will not pick up from where the first offering left off. It was one of the games that wrapped up with the death of the protagonist (John Marston), a bold move that seemingly put closure to the game.
Just like the movies, the challenge is making the prequel work. Already expected to be in focus is the central gang which could offer some sidelights and twists that would explain the dark stuff the original “Red Dead Redemption” did not divulge.
Being the latest version, seeing improved graphics to compliment combat action and other objects in the game is only to be expected to raise the bar once again on realism in open-world games. Critics have observed some similarities, and most are eager to see what other hidden features lie ahead.
“Red Dead Redemption 2” is set to officially come out on Oct. 26, 2018, with versions for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
