Experts have recently commended the strengthening of political ties between China and Africa. The two territories have opened up several diplomatic channels in order to enhance their relationship and also to strengthen their stance against poverty.
Political experts have pointed out that the relationship between China and Africa have been at an all-time high. The comprehensive cooperation between the two means that each territory has a vital understanding of each other's necessities and goals.
This view was conveyed by Deputy Executive Director of the China-Asian African Cooperation Center Zeng Aiping ahead of the third Forum on China and Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) which is set to be held in Beijing in September.
Zeng told Xinhuanet, that the visit will strengthen the relationship between the two nations.
Aside from improvements on political channels and talks, Zeng also pointed out some tangible economic reforms brought upon by the improved political alignment between China and Africa. The executive director added that China has been Africa's largest trading partner since 2009. Additionally, China is also one of the top investors in the continent. As pointed out by many experts, China is helping many African countries build or at least rehabilitate vital infrastructures like roads.
Aside from economic improvements, Zend added that there is also a significant development when it comes to social and cultural exchanges between the two territories.
While some critics are quick to point out that China has yet turn its focus on corruption and human rights abuses in many African countries, Zeng said that China's commitment in the region hinges on the principle that the country will not interfere when it comes to other countries' internal affairs.
Recently, China and Zimbabwe have closed a deal to help the latter improve its technology. This shows China's foreign economic aid covers a lot of range. From infrastructure to traditional industries, China is now lending its hand to help African countries improve in advanced technologies. The Chinese ambassador to Zimbabwe said that this latest project is an example of how Beijing extends its hand for a more productive bilateral economic cooperation with African territories.
