The talented Josh Gordon was already traded by the Cleveland Browns to the New England Patriots.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, in return to this deal, the Browns will obtain the fifth round pick and the Pats will have a 2019 seventh round pick from them. This scenario will happen if Gordon won't be active for over ten games, according to the league sources. The report also added that over 8 to 10 teams have contacted Browns, asking if the team will potentially trade for Gordon.

In addition, Browns officially revealed on Saturday that they plan to release Gordon this Monday. The Patriots then played Gordon the $697,058 which is the remaining amount in his 2018 contract. At the moment, the 27-year-old will be a restricted free agent after the season and the New England will tender him.

The Patriots have released wide receiver Corey Coleman to let Gordon have his place in the roster. There are already over 28 transactions from the Patriots and this involves a wide receiver since the new league year's beginning in March. It is reportedly tied with the Denver Broncos for the most in the NFL. Hue Jackson, the coach of Cleveland, announced the trade saying general manager John Dorsey pursued the best deal he can ever get.

With Gordon gone, Cleveland Browns team heads toward moving on as Jackson continues to coach them, getting ready to hit the ground this Thursday. Unfortunately, reasons as to why Gordon and his former team parted ways remain unknown. But ESPN's Chris Mortensen revealed that Gordon has broken his team's trust after reporting to the facility with hamstring issue when he fully participated in the practice all week.

A source also said some factors and past events were also involved saying, "There were things that we do not want to have happened here. And we made a decision that this is best for our football team moving forward." Gordon is now healthy to play for Patriots despite the hamstring issue. They are set to play against the Detroit Lions.

In social media post, Josh Gordon expressed gratitude to his former team. He shared how the city of Cleveland will always be a home to him. Gordon shared that he is blessed for having passionate teammates, where he basically grew. One cannot deny how talented Gordon is, but it was overshadowed by substance abuse. NFL has suspended him for over four seasons after multiple drug violations.
