Hyundai and Kia have been slashed with many new troublesome events and incidents. Recently, Safety group named: The Centre for Auto Safety demanded to both the car makers to withdraw 2.9 million cars and SUVs due to a report of one non-collison fire, reported as on an average for the last four months. In their bid to clarify things in terms of technicality, Hyundai and Kia are also reportedly coming up with new developments which will be revolutionary in their terms.
According to MLive, the Center for Auto Safety has listed the affected models in their caution list, which include all 2011-2014 Kia Sorento, Optima, and Hyundai Sonata and Santa Fe, and the 2010-2015 Kia Soul models. Jason Levine, executive director of the safety group, stated in the release: "Since our call for an investigation into these Kia and Hyundai non-collision fires, we have seen reports of almost one fire every single day across these five models."
He further stated: "the number and severity of these complaints, when people are simply driving their cars on the highway, is frightening. It is long past time for Kia and Hyundai to act. Car fires put everyone on the road in significant danger." "Unfortunately, most, if not all, auto manufacturers occasionally produce vehicles that catch fire, even when not involved in a collision..." "However, the volume of fires here make it appear that Hyundai and Kia are content to sit back and allow consumers, and insurers, to bear the brunt of poorly designed, manufactured, or repaired vehicles," Levine concluded.
However, Hyundai and Kia are also coming up with their own set of answers for the same set of issues. The latest report from Cnet quoted that bot the company is looking forward to tweaking up some radical modifications on their models. The report also suggested that a patent application for a "pillar display system for blind spot of the vehicle," has already been surfaced over the web on the first phase of October, this year. As per this patent, a driver of the above-listed vehicles will get extended view availability at the front end of the cars with the support of this pillar display.
The patent is said to be in the making at the manufacturing zones of Hyundai and Kia. The pillar display is said to be equipped with an ultra-capable camera, which will allow the users to have more view of the front side than earlier.
