Elektrisola opened its first facility in China fifteen years ago. Widely considered as one of the world's leading manufacturer of enameled copper wire, the company is now seeking to expand its already vast production stronghold in the Asian superpower.

Elektrisola's business is deeply rooted in China. The company has established a mature support facility, hired high-quality workers, and developed a friendly business environment in the country. Years of operation in Hangzhou have made Elektrisola deeply rooted in the community.

Recently, Elektrisola still continues development of its facility and the company recently confirmed that it is planning to expand its business in China. A testament to this dedication is the company's plan to invest $25.5 million in order to extend its factory. The expansion and construction process will be complete within the foreseeable future and is expected to open for service before the end of 2019.

Elektrisola is a German company, yet it has found a new home in China. During its early years, Elektrisola inspected more than 50 sites in China to found a suitable place for its operations. After months of surveying, the company chooses the town of Pingyao in the Yuhang district. The town is located in the city of Hangzhou in China's eastern province of Zhejiang.

Talking about the company's strict quality control regulations, Elektrisola Hangzhou general manager Bernt Gramann said that they keep a keen eye on site selection and considers many factors before choosing a particular spot. Among the factors that are considered are the immediate surroundings, as well as the supply and access to raw materials. Mr. Gramann added that the company chose Pingyao as the most suitable spot since it has checked all the necessary factors needed.

Elektrisola's base in Pingyao opened in 2005. Since its inception, the factory area has expanded to cover more than 50,000 square meters. Today, the company employs around 700 highly skilled workers.

Throughout the years, Elektrisola's business is already embedded in the domestic Chinese electric market. The company has also entered various fields and sectors including automobiles, home appliances, and ID cards. In 2017, Elektrisola reported a growth rate of 16 percent.

As part of its commitment to the local community, Elektrisola has invested $803 million within the first eight months of the year. That represents a 19.28 percent year-on-year improvement. Yuhang also stands out as one of the main hotspots in terms of scientific and technological development in Hangzhou. The city is known for high-tech industries covering sectors like artificial intelligence and biomedicine.
