Many were wondering when Fan Bingbing surprisingly went missing. There were a lot of rumors about her whereabouts, but it was later revealed that she was facing a tax evasion case against the government of China. This, later on, resulted in a bunch of mishaps, one of which is the recent cancellation of her supposed film with Bruce Willis.

According to AsianOne, China's most famous star Fan Bingbing is facing yet another consequence of her tax evasion mishap. For context, the actress was ordered by the Chinese government to pay more than $158 million or 800 million yuan. This was due to overdue taxes and fines thatwhich all were ordered earlier this month.

Following the government's investigation, it was found out that Fan Bingbing was splitting her contract to evade tax obligations of about 7.3 million yuan. The tax is reportedly payments for her role in the movie called "Air Strike."

The movie was supposed to co-star Fan Binging and Hollywood legend Bruce Willis. It was canceled. It was supposedly due for release on August 17 and is based on the infamous Japanese bombings of the Chinese city called Chongqing, which took place during World War 2.

Daily Mail reports that the distributor of the supposed Fan Bingbing filmed announced that the movie's release would be moved to October 26 in China. This was meant to coincide with its international release.

The announcement made for August came amid the intensity surrounding Fan Bingbing's high-profile disappearance. As mentioned, it was later found out that she was involved in a contract scheme called "yin-yang contracts," which is designed to avoid paying a significant amount of taxes.

The catch, however, is that Fan Bingbing has a small role in the aforementioned film. This is quite ironic in some ways, too, considering that her face and name were placed prominently on the film's original poster.

The movie includes a star-studded cast. It includes not only the above-mentioned American actor but also Chinese action star Liu Ye and South Korean actor Song Seung-heon. Apart from Fan Bingbing, Adrien Brody was also part of special appearances, as well as Hong Kong stars Eric Tsang, Nicholas Tse, and Simon Yam.

American actor-director Mel Gibson, on the other hand, was in charge of helming the movie. He was also known for directly critically acclaimed war titles like "Hacksaw Ridge." As of this writing, the movie's official release date remains uncertain. It is highly reported that this is due to the storm that the Chinese actress brought in recent events.
