There is no telling what lies ahead for Conor McGregor following that harrowing ruckus that happened at UFC 229. ONE Championship has been taking in big name fighters from the UFC, namely Eddie Alvarez and Demetrious Johnson.

While it would be something to see the Irishman jump to the ONE FC bandwagon, the possibility of that happening seems bleak. For one, ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong is not interested until McGregor is able to mend his ways. Apparently, the ONE FC top brass is not too thrilled at having someone who swears.

"We don't want somebody to swear at people, throw water bottles, disrespect people, call out people's wives and children, and -- in my opinion -- other distasteful stuff that is not representative of true martial arts,” said Sityodtong in an interview with CNN last year.

Now, McGregor has taken a swipe at the ONE FC CEO, blaming him for the impending demise of the UFC Flyweight division, the MMA Junkie said. With the transfer of Eddie Alvarez and Demetrious Johnson, the UFC Flyweight division has grown thin and flavor which McGregor seems to be wary about.

Ironically, McGregor made the rant at a time where ONE Championship has started to introduce both Alvarez and Johnson. For those who may have not caught those thoughts by Sityodtong last year, the social media post could even be considered a pitch for ONE FC to consider him.

Big as his name may be inside the Octagon, that doesn’t seem to be happening. While he is a gifted fighter, values are one thing that may be hard to impose on the 30-year-old mixed martial artist. And for those who are closely following the MMA scene or even boxing, most know that McGregor has been notorious for shooting his mouth off in what most perceive as a way to hype up fights.

Also, that UFC 229 rumble is a perfect example of how things could go wrong if McGregor brings his act to ONE FC. While all of it may be nothing more than rubbish or trash-talking, it may have dire consequences such as getting someone hurt – including the fans.

Finally, Sityodtong may be welcoming the jab by McGregor since it gives ONE Championship some added publicity. Controversial or not, it is something that can help the promotion moving forward.

On Friday, Nov. 9, ONE Championship will hold ONE Championship 83: Heart of the Lion at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The main event will have a bantamweight world championship unification bout between Bibiano Fernandes of Brazil and Kevin Belingon of the Philippines. The co-main event will have Christian Lee of Singapore facing Kazuki Tokudome of Japan.
