Cersei is at the end of her rule when Game of Thrones Season 8 returns on screens. That is, according to this big hint from the Game of Thrones Season 8 teaser trailer.

HBO finally released the preview for the final season of its hit show and fans could not be happier. The teaser did not show much regarding action sequences and the return of the casts. However, it did confirm that Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) would not remain ruler of Kings Landing for long.

The Game of Thrones Season 8 teaser trailer is a showcase of ice and fire and its possible meaning. It opens with what appears to be the map of Westeros with various figurines that represent different houses of the Seven Kingdoms laid out. Ice slowly makes it way down from the North, which is a foretelling of the fate of the Northern Kingdom when the White Walkers attack.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the map, a fire roars and makes its way to the middle. It destroys everything in its path including the symbol of a golden lion, which stands for the House Lannister. The camera makes a deliberate move to focus on the lion as the fire slowly engulfs it before it pans to the rest of the map.

This symbolizes the destruction of Kings Landing and Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones Season 8. The last audience saw of the evil queen in the Season 7 finale she had no family left to stand by her side. Except for her army and loyal guard The Mountain, Cersei only had her unborn child. Jaimie had chosen to leave for the North to fight alongside Jon Snow and Daenerys against the Night King.

However, even those left in Cersei's command could perish if Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) could have her way. The fire symbolizes the doom and destruction that the Mother of Dragons brings. She has her two remaining loyal dragons, Drogon and Rhaegal, at her beck and call. A simple "Dracarys" is all it takes to torch Kings Landing down to the ground.

Then again, there is also the possibility that the fire represents Cersei's favorite weapon, wildfire. Kings Landing being burned down to the ground could be her own doing and not Daenerys' since she wants to reclaim the Iron Throne and not destroy it. Fans suspect that Cersei goes crazy and burns her kingdom in Game of Thrones Season 8.
