Tech geeks are now excited about what Apple could offer this new year. The past few months had not been the best for the Cupertino-based tech giant. But, the company is currently looking to turn things around, and recent reports suggest that it is now working on a yet-to-be-released operating system called iOS 13.
Earlier this month, reports stating that some iPhones are already running iOS 13 made rounds online. MacRumors claimed that, based on their website's analytics, some visitors of their website that carry Apple IP address on devices are already running iOS 13 in the past few months.
It was reported that the publication first spotted devices running iOS 13 in October 2018. The news outlet added that visits from iPhones using the iOS 13 operating system had increased significantly.
While these claims could be true, it should be noted that Apple has not released the iOS 13 as of yet. Hence, fans should take these reports lightly until everything is proven true and correct.
Speculations suggest that iOS 13 will bring some significant features for iPad users. Aside from an overhauled Home screen app grid and Files app, the imminent new operating system is also expected to a Split View multitasking mode and expanded photo management features.
Other reports also claimed that iOS 13 could also introduce other interesting new feature such as dark mode, Dock management, and settings to select default Messages, Mail, and Maps apps. As for its possible release date, it is said that Apple is very likely to give some important details about the upcoming operating system on its annual Worldwide Developers Conference, which usually occurs in the month of June.
Meanwhile, tech analysts predicted that iOS 13 could make iPad Pros a practical replacement for laptops. There is no denying that iPad has occupied spot computers and phones since it carries some features present on both devices. But, is it possible that the tablet could substitute computers?
Well, Gartner senior principal analyst Mika Kitagawa does not think so. While it could be true that iOS 13 could help the device perform a number of jobs, it could never be a true computer replacement.
"An iPad cannot be truly used as a notebook replacement in most business environments, where Windows is a prevailing OS in the business world," Kitagawa told Inverse.
