Only a few months to go and fans will finally see who takes the Iron Throne when Game of Thrones Season 8 airs on April 14. If the trailer is anything to go by though, the best bet is Jon Snow.

Season 7 of the HBO series finally revealed that Jon Snow is the true heir to the Iron Throne. He is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, and this makes him next in line to rule Westeros and not Daenerys, Cersei, or Gendry.

The Game of Thrones Season 8 trailer may have even fuelled Jon's succession to the throne. The "Crypts of Winterfell" teaser may have given a major clue about Jon's fate in the way his statue was made to look after his likeness.

The theory trending on Reddit about Jon Snow's statue is that it predicts his fate against all that happens in Season 8. His statue depicts an older man, whereas Sansa and Arya have their statues made exactly in their likeness, from their wardrobe to their facial appearance. The statues portray them as they are now, as young women. This supposedly means that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is the only one who makes it out alive in Game of Thrones Season 8.

"Whatever the ending is going to be, it's going to be about Jon. He will be the hero, the ruler; he will defeat the Night King and save the realm. He's not going to die, unless it's as a final sacrifice."

Meanwhile, other theories claim that Bran Stark put those statues in the Crypts of Winterfell after he saw a vision of his siblings. It was meant to tell them about their fate and to warn them.

Interestingly, Harington's final scene in Game of Thrones Season 8 had him film all by himself. The actor revealed in an interview with GQ Australia that he was the last cast to film a scene that involved "a bit of green-screening." This does not mean that Jon Snow is the last man standing since TV shows do not normally shoot scenes in order. This information means though that his scene involves several special effects.

Likewise, this theory about Jon's statue predicting his fate may be a bit farfetched considering how Game of Thrones has a habit of showing teasers that do not come out in the final cut, as with the case in Season 6 with the Hall of Faces predicting characters' demise for that season. Daenerys' face was among them, and she is still alive in Season 8.
