Dallas Mavericks is escalating talks with Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns on Dennis Smith Jr. trade.

A recent report suggests that Dallas Mavericks are escalating consultations to find a trade for Dennis Smith Jr, the Mavericks' Point Guard, who scored 12.6 points and 3.9 assists per game this season. Sources say that both teams are showing interest in acquiring Smith to be in their teams. Since Smith has proven what he's got and his availability has been known, there has been such a high demand for his service.

The 21-year-old Point Guard, however, sat on the bench for three straight games due to a sore back. He missed a total of more than a dozen games for the whole season.

Sporting News hinted that A confirmation from the Dallas Mavericks players, Rick Carlisle, the team's head coach, Mark Cuban, owner and Dennis Smith Jr. himself marked the end to speculations and proved that the rumors are true.

However, another rumor which is yet to be confirmed says that the Mavericks do not consider Smith to be headed towards the direction where the team is heading. Sources say that it has something to do with Luka Doncic, Mavericks' face of the future and has established himself as the team's best player.

Figures speak for themselves. For 687 minutes of Smith and Doncic on the floor together, Mavs acquired minus-five points per 100 possessions, making quite a big difference with only Doncic on the floor. Maverick outscores their opponent by 3.1 points per 100 possessions with Sonic's 659-minute play without Smith.

Meanwhile, as the discussions on trade rumors are heating up, John Gambadoro of 98.7 FM Arizona Sports stated that Phoenix Suns is no longer pursuing a trade involving Dennis Smith Jr. For undisclosed reasons, Gambadoro said that Suns is no longer interested in pursuing a trade that would involve the 2017 number 9 at First Round Draft, according to CBS Sports.

Right from the moment that rumors about Mav's trading, Smith spread; a number of names were speculated to have zero to a great chance of becoming a replacement for him.

Phoenix Suns' Devin Booker, G, and DeAndre Ayton were categorized to have no chance at all. From the center, the names of Mikal Bridges Josh Jackson, F are on top, while forward Kelly Oubre, F comes in line should the Suns changes decision and decide to pursue the trade.

Orlando Magic on the other hand also has their list of Mohammed Bamba, C, Nikola Vucevic, C and Aaron Gordon, F.
