It will take a little while before fans see "Silicon Valley" Season 6 on the small screen. Although HBO has renewed the show ahead of its Season 5's premiere in 2018, viewers may not see Richard (Thomas Middleditch), Erlich (T.J. Miller), and the rest of the gang until 2020 on its possible final season.

According to Digital Trends, "Silicon Valley" Season 6's production has been moved in summer 2019. With the setback, its release date is expected to be delayed, too, and might be out in 2020.

The showrunner and executive producer Alec Berg's busy schedule is said to be the reason behind "Silicon Valley" Season 6's delay. As he is also working on HBO's "Barry" Season 2, the network wanted him to finish the comedy series' second season before he started the new installment of the 1980s' engineers' story.

There are reports "Silicon Valley" Season 6 can be the final bow of the show. However, HBO has yet to confirm this news. But in an interview with TVLine after Season 4, Berg admitted they were already talking about its possible ending.

"I can't say we have [a specific end date] in mind, but we definitely for the first time are starting to talk about, 'How long do you think this will continue...?'" Berg said about "Silicon Valley" Season 6's possible ending. "There is no definitive plan [to conclude the series], but we're starting to think that maybe there are less [sic] shows left than there are in the can."

Collider reported that "Silicon Valley" Season 6 might be the best time to end the series. The show has been going on circles for a while now for featuring difficult scenarios that the engineers would solve and triumph at the end of the day.

Although the show has indeed presented a fun entertainment on TV, it is quite evident that it is running out of a good story to tell. So while the series is still a sought-after, "Silicon Valley" Season 6 may give it a proper ending.

Now, the big question is how "Silicon Valley" Season 6 will end the engineers' story? "[Maybe] one of the last seasons could be about how they made their billion dollars," Thomas Middleditch suggested, per SlashFilm.

However, "Silicon Valley" is not "the underdog story" that fans used to know and love. "I think everybody's hesitant about turning it into this show that doesn't live up to the premise we all bought into," Thomas Middleditch added. With that said, fans have to wait for HBO's official announcement and "Silicon Valley" Season 6's release date to know if it would be the show's final season.
