The anticipation for Rick and Morty Season 4 has been very high since the third season finale, which is why it comes as no surprise that it is still one of the much-talked-about topics online up to this writing. Details about the renewal of the popular American adult animated science fiction sitcom have been limited, but series co-creator and voice actor Justin Roiland gave a very interesting hint recently.

Many fans went berserk when Roiland teased, via Instagram, that Rick and Morty Season 4 might come very soon. The series co-creator shared a photo of four people working in a studio with him, who could be doing some recording for the show. Things got more interesting when he wrote "Idc3 (maybe) @rickandmorty" in the caption.

This, then, sparked speculations on what fans could expect in the yet-to-be-confirmed fourth installment. Reports have it that caption is a clear reference to Interdimensional Cable, which Rick invented and gave him access to television shows across every dimension. Because of this, EconoTimes shared that Rick and Morty Season 4 could use the anthological episode format that was also utilized in Season 1 and Season 2.

For starters, the Interdimensional Cable kicked off as a concept in the "Rixty Minutes" episode when Rick attached the technology to the cable box. The format brought twisted and comical scenes that made the series more fun and interesting. Generally, the concept was a huge hit, and there is no enough reason not to adapt it in Rick and Morty Season 4.

Meanwhile, it seems like one of the series writers would not be coming back should the series be given another run. Reports suggest that Jessica Gao would no longer be a part of the team behind the famous American television series. Though she would not be writing for Rick and Morty Season 4, Gao is said to work on another show that is closer to her heart.

With Gao's departure, speculations about the show getting delayed have started spreading online. However, despite this, fans need not worry because Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon would be very involved in Rick and Morty Season 4. So, viewers could expect that the fourth installment of the series would still feature the pair's signature goofiness.

As for its release date, the fourth season is expected to premiere in late 2019 or early 2020. While these speculations could be true, it should be noted that Adult Swim has not yet confirmed anything until now. Thus, avid followers of the show should take everything with a grain of salt.
