Fans will continue to see the Gallaghers as Showtime announced the coming of Shameless Season 10 at the recent Television Critics Association press tour. The network executive Gary Levine confirmed the good news, making the show the longest-running series in the US TV channel.

"The Gallaghers are a force of nature, and they are coming back," Levine announced upon confirming Shameless Season 10's return. Executive producer John Wells, on the other hand, celebrated the news. "All of us on Shameless are delighted that we get to tell more wonderful Gallagher stories," he said in a statement, via TV Line. He is also thankful to Showtime for continuing its support for the show.

According to Express.co.uk, a lot of series regulars will return to Shameless Season 10. William H. Macy will make a comeback to reprise his role as Frank Gallagher. Jeremy Allen White (Lip), Ethan Cutkosky (Carl), and Emma Kenney (Debbie) will also return.

Christian Isaiah will continuously join the cast of Shameless Season 10 as Liam after his character got introduced in Season 8. Also, despite his claim that he will leave the show earlier this year, fans will continue to see Cameron Monaghan as Ian.

Unfortunately, fans will never see Emmy Rossum as Fiona in Shameless Season 10. In a lengthy post on Facebook, the 32-year-old star confirmed her exit earlier this year. From the looks of it, there will be no surprise exit happening this year after the announcement of the characters' return.

Meanwhile, Showtime has yet to reveal Shameless Season 10's plot details as the current season is still airing. Season 9 is about to air its final episode on March 10. After that, fans may see what is in store for the Gallaghers in the next installment.

The current season started in January and showed Fiona at a low point. Debbie, on the other hand, was trying her best taking the responsibility to keep their family afloat, while Frank was still enjoying the honeymoon period of his relationship with Ingrid (Katey Sagal), per Variety.

Shameless Season 10 has yet to receive its official release date, but Showtime revealed at the winter TCA that its production would begin this year. If fans would follow the show's previous premiere date schedule, it could come out in the fall or winter 2019 or in January 2020.

Showtime also has yet to reveal other details about Shameless Season 10 like its number of episodes, but all of its previous chapters had 12 episodes. However, the current season has 14 episodes that are split into two seven-episode parts.
