American Idol season 17 will premiere on ABC next month and the lineup of duet performers have been recently revealed. They'll be joining the contestants once they make it to that part of the show for performances.

In a recently posted video, ABC revealed that Shaggy, lovelytheband, Chris Isaak, Elle King, Ben Harper, Lukas Graham, Cynthia Erivo, Neil Giraldo, Pat Benatar, Brett Young, Julia Michaels, as well as Jason Mraz will be the duet performers for American Idol season 17, CarterMatt reported. They will be performing together with the top 24 contenders once they've made it to the duet round.

This is a great opportunity for the contestants of the American Idol season 17 as they'll have the chance to perform with someone who's already has a career in the industry. The duet performers could also give a bit of advice to contenders or can tell them what it takes to be a star. All of them already had a huge impact in the industry, Benatar, in particular, is a living legend.

American Idol season 17 likely needs buzz at the moment, especially since there's not that much for it. For instance, only a few people are only talking about the reality singing show or what they should expect. Thus, it really needs to make some ways on how to keep its audiences interactive. But aside from that, American Idol also needs more memorable talent, as well as pop-culture viability.

American Idol season 17 will premiere this coming March 3 on ABC and will air every Sunday and Monday. The network has decided to bring the entire judging panel from the previous season which includes Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and permanent host Ryan Seacrest. The live shows will the air in April and viewers have the say who they want to advance for each week. The final performance of the reality singing show is scheduled for May 19, and then season finale will be on May 20.

American Idol originally aired on Fox from season 1 to 15, and then it went off-air for two years. American Idol season 16 was picked up by ABC and premiered back on March 11, 2018. The show has kept the original format but replaced the judges from Keith Urban, Harry Connick Jr, Jennifer Lopez to Richie, Perry, and Bryan.

Maddie Poppe was the winner of season 16, winning a nationwide audience vote over Gabby Barrett and Caleb Lee Hutchinson. After winning the show, Poppe released three singles: "First Aid Kit," "Going Going Gone," and "Keep On Movin' On."
