They will be performing together with the top 24 contenders once they've made it to the duet round.

The duet performers could also give a bit of advice to contenders or can tell them what it takes to be a star. All of them already had a huge impact in the industry, Benatar, in particular, is a living legend.
American Idol season 17 likely needs buzz at the moment, especially since there's not that much for it. For instance, only a few people are only talking about the reality singing show or what they should expect. Thus, it really needs to make some ways on how to keep its audiences interactive. American Idol season 17 will premiere this coming March 3 on ABC and will air every Sunday and Monday. The network has decided to bring the entire judging panel from the previous season which includes Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and permanent host Ryan Seacrest.
