To All the Boys I've Loved Before 2 is now in the works, and fans may see a new love triangle between Lara Jean (Lana Condor), Peter (Noah Centineo) and John Ambrose McClaren. It remains to be a big mystery who will play Lara's old crush in the upcoming sequel, but there are rumors it can be Luke Benward.

There will be a lot of disturbances in Lara Jean and Peter's relationship in To All the Boys I've Loved Before 2. There is Peter's close relationship with his former girlfriend Gen (Emilija Baranac) and the coming of Lara's old crush John Ambrose McClaren.

John is one of the recipients of Lara Jean's letter. In an interview with ELLE, Lana Condor revealed there would be a "major new love interest" in To All the Boys I've Loved Before 2. "In the second movie, it's going to be a major new character that's going to challenge Peter quite a bit and fight over me, which is not a bad thing," she said.

So who could be playing John in To All the Boys I've Loved Before 2? Jordan Burchett played the role in the previous season's mid-credits cameo, but Lana Condor's announcement video teased there would be a new star playing the said character. The 21-year-old star showed someone called her and said she believed "they would be" perfect for the part, per TV Guide.

Jordan Burchett, on the other hand, confirmed he was not yet confirmed to play John's role in To All the Boys I've Loved Before 2. Pop Sugar reported Dumplin's Luke Benward could play the role

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, John Centineo's real-life BFF revealed he is hoping to be a part of To All the Boys I've Loved Before 2's cast and play the role of John. However, nothing is confirmed yet.

"Honestly, I'm just messing around," Luke Benward said. The 23-year-old star added he just liked playing with people as they were getting excited about his alleged coming to To All the Boys I've Loved Before 2. He admitted he investigated the role, although he didn't remember John's character.

Luke Benward continued to say he is an "antagonizer" for messing around. He added he had to watch the series again, but confessed he wanted to work with Luke Centineo in To All the Boys I've Loved Before 2. "We'll have to see how it shakes down, but I'm not opposed to it," he disclosed. Netflix has yet to announce the sequel's release date, but fans expect to see it this year.
