A Buffy actress is going to be in SEAL Team season 2. David Boreanaz is going to welcome her as a guest in an upcoming episode, and she's none other than Kristy Swanson.
Swanson is best known for playing Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the movie version that came out in 1992. Incidentally, Boreanaz starred in the TV version that aired from 1996 to 2003, where Sarah Michelle Gellar was Buffy.
In a post on Twitter, Swanson thanked the writers, cast, and crew of SEAL Team and CBS for having her. The actress said that she was always a fan of the hit TV show and felt honored to be working with Boreanaz.
The air date for the SEAL Team season 2 episode featuring Swanson has not yet been announced. The military drama is currently on a three-week hiatus and won't return on air until March 13.
According to Pop Culture, SEAL Team season 2 had to give way to a few CBS specials for the mid-season, such as The World's Best and the second season of Celebrity Big Brother. CBS announced the schedule interruption last November.
Fans of the show, however, will be rewarded despite the long hiatus. According to SEAL Team CBS Fans, once the show is back on in March, there will no more break to the episodes' airing. There are at least seven more episodes left to go for the rest of the second season.
However, viewers have to take note that SEAL Team season 2 will be in a new timeslot for the rest of its remaining run. It will be airing Wednesday nights at 10:00 on CBS when it used to air at 9:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, as the show was on a break, the cast got busy attending fan events. The SEAL Team stars were at a recent SCAD aTV Fest in Atlanta.
Boreanaz was given the Maverick Award for his more than 20 years of career on television at the said event. Before starring on SEAL Team, the actor was in the long-running show Bones with Emily Deschanel and also starred on Angel, the spinoff to the Buffy series.
SEAL Team on CBS also stars AJ Buckley (Sonny), Jessica Pare (Mandy), Judd Lormand (Eric), Max Thierot (Clay), Toni Trucks (Lisa) and Neil Brown Kr. (Ray). Jim Caviezel recurs on the show as Jason Hayes.
CBS has not renewed the show for a third season. The show averages less than five million viewers a week, and it's still a toss-up if the network will decide to keep the show for next season.
