Wynonna Earp has been one of the most popular shows on SyFy, but it appears the series is in danger now. While it was confirmed at the Comic-Con back in July, it has been renewed by the NBCU cable network, the release date Wynonna Earp season 4 might reportedly be delayed.
Melanie Scrofano, who plays Wynonna Earp, recently responded to a fan on Twitter asking about the series. The actress said they haven't started filming yet and she doesn't know the reason as to why this is happening. Also, series exec producer/showrunner Emily Andras was asked if they were ready to fight for the program, Comicbook cited her now-deleted tweet response saying, "don't f-k with my family."

Then, Wynonna Earp campaign started trending worldwide with a hashtag #FightForWynonna, and as per Otakukart, the series isn't getting enough funds to produce the fourth season. But, although cast members feared the might discontinue, fans around the world showed their support to save the show. SyFy also expressed its full support for the show, saying they have ordered Wynonna Earp season 4 from IDW Entertainment. The network added it is completely committed to the series, and that hasn't changed.
SyFy has acquired Wynonna Earp, but it has no control over it. The series is produced by IDW Entertainment, which has been sold to different networks such as Space in Canada. The production company has previously indicated it is experiencing financial difficulties and running a deficit. So, it could not reportedly proceed with the production of Wynonna Earp season 4 at the moment.
Wynonna Earp season 4 is expected for a June or July of 2019, but if the current situation wouldn't change, the show might reportedly premiere to the last quarter of 2019, or it might be delayed until 2020. Still, there's hope for the series as SyFy has been very high on Wynonna Earp, which has recently won a People's Choice Awards.
The series follows the story of Wynonna Earp, who is a hard-drinking, gun-toting descendent of the gunslinger. As a first born, she's cursed to hunt demons and other supernatural creatures in her small town before they could escape and bring wrath upon the world.
Aside from Scrofano, other casts of Wynona Earp includes Chantel Riley, Varun Saranga, Shamier Anderson, Katherine Barrell, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, and Tim Rozon. The series premiered back in 2016 and has since amassed a devoted LGBTQ following because of its positive and inclusive representation.
