With the release of the first and official Game of Thrones Season 8 teaser, avid followers of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book series have started clamoring for some updates about its sixth installment anew. Many fans have been waiting for The Winds of Winter since its first announcement in 2011. However, GRRM has kept mum about its release date up to this writing.

Because of this, some supporters of George R.R. Martin started to create predictions and theories as to what are likely to transpire in the imminent sixth installment of the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Though the 70-year-old writer shared a few excerpts of The Winds of Winter in previous years, fans badly want to know if the novel will be parallel to the occurrences in the hit HBO television series.

However, Reedit summary of the talk claimed George R.R. Martin said that Game of Thrones is killing a lot more characters than he has plans for. The man behind the successful American fantasy drama television series even shared that the show is not a draft for The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. GRRM also divulged that the network made some arrangements that moved the series faster than he ever expected.

In a new post shared on the A Song of Ice and Fire thread in Reedit, LemmieBee shared a quote from George R.R. Martin's recent interview. In the said discussion, GRRM allegedly revealed that he still has a lot of pages to write before he could finally finish the much-awaited novel. Though he is also working on the five forthcoming Game of Thrones spinoffs, the veteran novelist assured fans that he would finish The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring as planned.

"I'm working on it, I try not to look at the big picture, ever..because then it becomes incredibly intimidating. I try to say, 'I'll pick it up today; I'm gonna write a couple of pages, let's see, one page at a time, one sentence at a time, one..... word at a time," George R.R. Martin, reportedly, stated when asked about The Winds of Winter. "...if you look at... oh god, I have thousands of pages left to write and they have to be great or everyone will be mad at me, ummm... then it becomes very intimidating," the A Song of Ice and Fire writer went on.

As for its release date, there have been reports saying that TWOW is likely to arrive very soon since George R.R. Martin previously hinted an early-2019 release. However, if we based on his recent interview, the book might come a little later than expected.
