Lou Diamond Phillips is returning to Blue Bloods season 9. The actor himself confirmed that he will reprise his role as Delgado, the cartel's henchman.

In a post on Twitter, Phillips posted a new photo showing that he's on the set of Blue Bloods season 9. Standing next to him was Mark Wahlberg (Danny Reagan) and they appeared to be having a good time together.

On Blue Bloods season 9, however, these two will have another intense moment, especially after Delgado told Danny in season 8 that the death of his wife, Linda (played by Amy Carlson), was not an accident and that his cartel gang had something to do with it. Danny has been struggling to come to terms with this thought following an encounter with a medium on a different case.

This medium had a gift of contacting souls from beyond. In Blue Bloods season 9 episode 13, which aired last February, the medium intimated to Danny what Linda told her. She confirmed that his wife was, in fact, murdered and thus Danny may soon go after the cartel member.

CBS, however, has not yet revealed when Danny and Delgado will face off again on Blue Bloods season 9. The show has two episodes left to air (episode 16 and episode 17) this March and Phillips is not yet in it.

Blue Bloods season 9 will then take a break for at least two weeks as CBS airs March Madness 2019. The show's next airing will be on April 5 but details to episode 18 are not yet available.

Meanwhile, Blue Bloods season 9 episode 16, which will air on Friday, March 8, will have Danny solving the case of a murdered woman through the help of the daughter she left behind. But Margo (played by Lyrica Okano) is not going to give Danny an easy time with this case. This episode will also feature someone from Jamie and Eddie's past (played by Will Estes and Vanessa Ray, respectively) as things turn political at work.

The following Friday, Blue Bloods season 9 episode 17 will feature the return of Treat Williams as Lenny Ross, the former partner of Frank (played by Tom Selleck). Ross will warn his friend that the NYPD is about to release an expose but will this have something to do with any of the Reagans?

Jamie, on the other hand, will look for leads about a corrupt police officer in his own precinct. Erin (played by Bridget Moynahan) will deal with a piece of bad news about the doctor responsible for his own daughter's death.
