"Archer" first started as cartoon James Bond spoof, but has now become a huge surprise. Even the show's hardcore fans, despite having trouble embracing its evolution, have appreciated its move to try a couple of different genres. Now, it is set to take a leap towards space.

In an interview with Uproox, Adam Reed's super-spy pastiche is going to introduce "a lot of 70's sci-fi." Not only will it bring an atmosphere similar to fan-favorites "Aliens" and "Black Hole," but it will also feature some old Atari game covers.

According to Reed, who is the sole creative force behind the show, "Archer" Season 10 is going to embrace a "full retro" ambiance. The goal is for the show to highlight what a designer's version of the future could look like, except that he lives in 1975.

The approach of "Archer" Season 10 has also been confirmed by executive Matt Thompson. While the new season still focuses on some similar aspects, they are weaved together on a supposed "spaceship."

Aisha Tyler, the voice behind the character Lane Kane, even suggested that the upcoming season is not close to being a regular show - it is going embark on a space voyage. From warp drive to robot love, it will have all kinds of "futuristic" laser and robot, the comedienne-actress hinted.

Like what the people behind the show did to its predecessors, it is no surprise if "Archer" Season 10 indulges on anything possible. At this point, the main character is in a coma following a serious injury obtained in Season 7. So, in a sense, everything that has happened since the start of "Dreamland" is all in the character's head while he is recovering in a hospital bed. In other words, the showrunners are not entirely tied to connecting the new season to the previous storyline.

"Archer" Season 10 will see the return of the main characters. Likewise "Dreamland," these characters are going to introduce some surprising roles. Take for example Amber Nash, the voice behind Human Resource Director Pam Poovey. The actress said that her character will no longer be a human come next season. Instead, she will turn into a colossus rock monster with a size akin to that of a dump truck.

Reed, on the other hand, has a purpose of putting the main character of the show in a coma. Apparently, it gives them to the flexibility of taking the show to different directions. He is even interested in putting up a Bible-based plot, something that could feature Archer playing as King Herod. "Archer" Season 10 is slated to air sometime this year.
