Finally, "Fear The Walking Dead" Season 5 is officially happening. The fan-favorite spin-off to the original and much celebrated "The Walking Dead" series is returning with its new season, giving fans something to look forward to.

The fourth season of the show proved to be triumphant, which is needed to make a new season possible. Considering the overwhelming response it received, it makes sense for AMC to green light the fifth season.

According to the official synopsis, the upcoming "Fear The Walking Dead" Season 5 has been released. The heroes of the show are expected to locate survivors and make use of whatever is left in a dystopian setting. Morgan Jones will lead the prime mission while the rest of the team will help others atone for their sins.

Given the narrative of the show so far, things in the fifth season will not be easier. Not only will they face fears, but they will also have to overcome the challenge of living a new way of life.

"Fear The Walking Dead" Season 5, based on IMDb, will introduce a total of 16 episodes. As for its cast, it would include Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia Clark), Lennie James (Morgan Jones), Colman Domingo (Victor Strand), Danay Garcia (Luciana Galvez), Garret Dillahunt (John Dorie), and Maggie Garcia (Althea).

The new season of AMC's prequel to the uber-popular "The Walking Dead" is slated to hit the screen come mid-April this year. Unfortunately, its exact official release date has yet to be announced.

In the finale of the fourth season, Morgan's group was able to defeat the main villain Martha (played by Tonya Perkins). But instead of going to Virginia, they opted to continue moving what Polar Bear started: To work collectively and help others in need. Will this be changed come Season 5? It is an interesting aspect of the show.

According to Screen Rant, AMC is fond of using a clear pattern for "Fear The Walking Dead." For instance, it tends to air right after the latest season of "The Walking Dead" ends. Given the fact that the latter's Season 9 ends come March 31, it is possible for the new season to arrive on April 7. The fourth season of the spin-off was released on April 15, 2018, and ended on September 30.

But, as mentioned above, there has been no official release date yet. Things could possibly change, especially if AMC decides to do so.
