The Good Doctor fans should brace themselves for an emotional and heartbreaking episode. Spoilers for the Season 2 finale suggest that Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) will be fighting for his life in hospital after he had an altercation with a patron while at the bar.

Before that, here is a quick recap of what happened in the penultimate episode of The Good Doctor Season 2. The said episode, titled "Breakdown," saw Dr. Shaun Murphy's desperation to join Dr. Neil Melendez' (Nicholas Gonzalez) team on a dangerous procedure involving a patient's 200-pound tumor removal.

While he came up with a way to complete the operation safely, Dr. Shaun Murphy was still excluded from the surgery. Upset, he lashed out to Dr. Jackson Han (Daniel Dae Kim) - demanding that he be reinstated as a surgical resident.  His behavior, however, caused him to get fired.

Dr. Shaun Murphy, then, went to a local bar to drown his sorrow. Just when he thought things could not get worse, he found himself in an altercation with a patron. The incident resulted in him being critically injured.

Now, the upcoming finale of The Good Doctor Season 2 will see Dr. Shaun Murphy fighting for his life at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital. While there is a high chance that he will end up okay, predictions and spoilers suggest his job status remains in jeopardy.

With that in mind, Express.co.uk predicted that Dr. Shaun Murphy and Dr. Jackson Han will presumably clash in the much-awaited Season 2 finale. Aside from that, the next episode will also feature Dr. Neil Melendez and Dr. Audrey Lim (Christina Chang) making their romance official and public.

"As a barroom fight sends Dr. Shaun Murphy to seek treatment at St. Bonaventure's, Dr. Alex Park and Dr. Audrey Lim disagree over an elderly woman's post-operative symptoms," the synopsis for The Good Doctor Season 2 reads, as quoted by Carter Matt. "Meanwhile, Dr. Neil Melendez and Dr. Lim make their romance public, and Dr. Aaron Glassman continues to pursue a relationship with a good friend," it added.

The much-awaited finale of The Good Doctor Season 2 will also see Antonia Thomas as Dr. Claire Browne, Chuku Modu as Dr. Jared Kalu, Hill Harper as Dr. Marcus Andrews, Will Yun Lee as Dr. Alex Park, Fiona Gubelmann as Dr. Morgan Reznick, Beau Garrett as Jessica Preston, Paige Spara as Lea Dilallo and Tamlyn Tomita as Allegra Aoki.
