As the medical drama closes out its current installment, The Good Doctor Season 2 episode 18 will reveal another side to Dr. Shaun Murphy's side that will surprise fans and viewers. Freddie Highmore's character is somewhat on the verge of losing his cool amid all the pressures blowing his way.
It is the finale. Although everyone is looking forward to the brilliant physician to regain his bearings at work, it seems that The Good Doctor Season 2 will end with some sense of unpredictability and an element of surprise as another crisis plunges Dr. Murphy into a coma.
The segment entitled Trampoline sees the young physician blowing his steam in a bar. It is likely that his difficulty to manage things has gone into another level. While it is not in Shaun's nature to get involved in a fist fight, there is something peculiar about the doctor's recent behavior.
The thing is the last segment for The Good Doctor Season 2 has only worsened the status of Highmore's character. What happens in that bar will certainly bolster Dr. Jackson Han's low opinion of him. Daniel Dae Kim's role has always undermined his young colleague's judgment and that approach is not changing any time soon.
Meanwhile, back at the hospital, subplots continue to make matters interesting as the other doctors get into some issues of their own. It seems that Will Yun Lee's Dr. Alex Park is re-engaging his former cop side as he tangles up with Christina Chang's Dr. Audrey Lim about the post-operative symptoms of an elderly woman.
On the other hand, a relationship intends to unravel its status in the open. It will just be a matter of time before Nicholas Gonzalez's Dr. Neil Melendez and Dr. Lim admit to their romance. Imminent trouble may surface here based on Dr. Han's policy of keeping the affection of colleagues for each other as purely professional.
In line with this, another character at St. Bonaventure Hospital is also pursuing a relationship with a good friend. Shaun's mentor and the center's former president Dr. Aaron Glassman intends to bring his affection to another level. The only question left for Richard Schiff's role is will his feelings be reciprocated.
The bar room attack involving Dr. Murphy in The Good Doctor Season 2 episode 18 can be sustained heading into the next stretch. With the young physician dozing off into a coma, it is likely that another storyline will be based here. In addition, such status can also present different perspectives to pursue for Season 3.
