Angelina Jolie is reportedly planning to make the big switch and uproot her kids to New York. The Maleficent star wants to live as far away as possible from her ex-husband Brad Pitt, so she's moving to the east coast.

A story from the tabloid paper National Enquirer ran about Jolie's plans to move to the Big Apple to start her new life. She chose New York so that it won't be easier for Pitt to see all six children since he's based in Los Angeles.

But Gossip Cop has immediately debunked the report that Jolie wants to start a clean slate in New York City. The news outlet wrote that Jolie would not be plotting for the kids to see less of their father since the court has mandated her to do the opposite, that is, to allow Pitt to see the children as often as possible.

In June 2017, Jolie bought the house formerly owned by Cecil B. DeMille in Los Angeles, as per VarietyShe paid a premium for this property at $24.5 million, and she likely doesn't have any plans to let this lot go for now.

Meanwhile, Jolie was seen with four of her kids at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles last Monday, March 11, to watch the premiere of Disney's live-action film Dumbo, as per E! NewsIn a few months, Jolie's own Disney live-action sequel, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, will be opening at the box office as well.

The studio has moved the second Maleficent movie's release date earlier, from the summer of 2020 to this coming Oct. 18. Elle Fanning is also reprising her role in this film as Jolie's ward Princess Aurora, while Michelle Pfeiffer has joined the cast as the Queen.

Before the Los Angeles outing, the actress and her children were also spotted visiting New York City's Museum of Modern Art and attending the premiere of the documentary film Serendipity, which is about breast cancer. Her time in New York was not spent looking for a new home to live.

Instead, it was a brief family visit to support a friend, filmmaker Prune Nourry, who made Serendipity. Jolie said that the film was "a tribute to the spirit of a woman, and a journey into the mind and soul of a true artist," as per People.
