Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys has gotten a lot of heat on the football field but it seems he will have to deal with something outside the NFL. Apparently, his pit bulls got loose and everything just turned ugly from there when they ended up at a neighbor's side of the fence.
TMZ Sports said that one of Prescott's pit bulls named Icon attacked a neighbor's dog. Worse, reports reveal that the pit bull also ended up going after a woman named Beth Taylor who was trying to break up the canine altercation. The woman alleges that she lost a finger in trying to do so and there were witnesses to back up her claim.
"I don't know if it's completely off," the 50-year-old said of the fingertip that was bitten ... "There's something partially there. It's like from mid-finger nail. It's still there I think. It's just one half on."
Taylor's call for help was amply recorded via a 911 call. Even after the attack, she claims that the pit bulls were still prowling her front yard.
Authorities arrived at the scene and were able to quarantine Icon at a local animal shelter. Prescott's pooch is set to face a hearing to determine if the pit bull can be classified as a dangerous dog. Should he be deemed as one, the dog could face the death penalty or euthanasia. The hearing is set to take place on Mar. 20 at a local Frisco courthouse.
Taylor would eventually be taken to a hospital where he remained for four days, WFAA said. She was left without a portion of her finger. At the time of the incident, Prescott was reportedly not home.
The 25-year-old quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys did not issue an official statement on the matter. Right now, the fourth round pick of the 2016 NFL Draft is reportedly on the verge of signing a rich deal. According to a report, Prescott is due to sign a contract extension worth somewhere between $27 to 30 million.
Despite having a good rookie season, Prescott has not exactly been the same stellar quarterback for the Cowboys. He succeeded Tony Romo for the position but the move has not yet produced the same impact similar to 2016.
