The first season of New Amsterdam has six episodes left before it wraps up. And with the recent events that happened in the latest episode, The King of Swords, fans are much more eager to see everything unveils. However, this might take a while as the following episode may return after a few weeks of break.
Although The King of Swords just aired a few days ago, the promotions for episode 17 titled Sanctuary are already apparent to various platforms. And based on these mini-teasers, it seemingly appears that the upcoming episode will continue to show the struggles that the doctors are facing on the last episode.
As you may know, in The King of Swords, a scary and chaotic winter storm has hit the area. And there is a huge scarcity of resources. But, the doctors of New Amsterdam, especially Max, tried to resolve the matter in their own hands. And in the end, everyone was able to find "sanctuary" in the hospital.
With these series of events, it is only sensible why the next episode of New Amsterdam is titled Sanctuary. The title could mean a haven for the patients and everyone who met accidents from the storm. However, these recently released teasers showed otherwise.
The hospital seems to suffer as well from the storm. The electricity is out, and their avenues to resources are getting slimmer. Accordingly, the so-called sanctuary is becoming less of it as more problems arise. And this is probably where the new episode will focus.
As for Max and Helen, fans will probably see the continuation of their emotional conversation too. However, a few people believe that this might not happen yet considering that there is a huge calamity inside and outside the hospital. Even so, everyone is so eager to learn what will Helen reveal to him as well as the thing that Max tried to tell her in the previous episode.
New Amsterdam is becoming more popular for its plot in recent episodes. Thanks to the issues and struggles that are tackled, this drama suspense show offers the fans and viewers a bittersweet foretaste with the reality inside the medical industry.
Now, the upcoming episode is set to premiere on April 9 which is less than four weeks away from today. Although fans are seemingly disappointed with the new schedule, many see it as an advantage to the show since the last remaining episodes of the first season may no longer take a break after this hiatus.
