Mr. Robot Season 4 is definitely bittersweet. That is because the USA Network has decided to end its critically acclaimed show this year. Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming season.

The show is already renewed the fourth season and Sam Esmail, the writer, and director of the series, has started working on some few episodes already. But, as mentioned, the renewal is bundled with good news and bad news. The upcoming season will be the show's final hurrah.

But when exactly will Mr. Robot Season 4 arrive? Unfortunately, though, the USA Network has yet to announce an official release date. Interestingly, the production for the series officially started back in November last year (although the shooting is still far from completion).

The publication also added that the main star Ramil Malek, who just won his first Oscar award for his role as Freddie Mercury in the film Bohemian Rhapsody, was recently spotted with Christian Slater (known for playing Elliot Alderson's father and Mr. Robot). It turns out that they were shooting for the said season.

Based on some recent updates, it is unlikely for fans to see Mr. Robot Season 4 before the fall of 2019. This is simply due to the fact that production is still ongoing and it would really take time for the series to reach completion. But as far as speculations are concerned, it is possible for the upcoming season to be released in September this year. Again, nothing is certain yet. Viewers should take it with a grain of salt.

According to TV Season Spoilers, Mr. Robot Season 4 will feature a total of 12 episodes just like the second season. However, the first and third season of the show introduced 10 episodes each only. Apparently, Esmail himself did not intend to make 12 episodes for the series finale. When he and his writers discussed how the fourth season would go, they noticed it would require 12 episodes; hence, the number.

As for the plot of the fourth season, nothing has been officially revealed. However, the co-presidents of Universal Cable Productions, namely Dawn Olmstead and George Cheeks, both praised the narrative. They claimed that the upcoming story is original and even exhilarating, qualities that would give to the show's final season.

Malek, on the other hand, said that Mr. Robot Season 4 would end on a high note and that it is going to be pretty wild. Esmail added that the ending has been on his mind way before the first season premiered.
