Actor George Clooney and human rights lawyer Amal got married in September 2014. Nearly five years later, the two are still going strong contrary to several reports saying that they are having marriage troubles.
One of the controversies surrounding Amal and George Clooney is that the two are just putting on a happy face to hide their marriage troubles, according to Radar Online via Gossip Cop. The article noted how they looked like a perfect couple when receiving an award at the National Museum of Scotland on March 14 for their humanitarian work.
The newsoutlet also pointed out that Amal and George Clooney's marriage troubles started in April 2017 as they were sleeping in separate bedrooms. Then comes 2018 when sources claimed that the couple were in the midst of a nasty divorce battle, including a custody battle over their twins - Alexander and Ella.
Amal and George Clooney have been allegedly constantly fighting about several aspects, including their kids. They were said to be having disagreements about how and where to raise Alexander and Ella since the human rights lawyer prefers Europe, while the latter wants stay in Los Angeles for good. Also, the Tomorrowland actor has allegedly been struggling to give up his old Bachelor ways.
Gossip Cop, however, immediately debunked the report and stressed that there is no evidence to support such claims. In fact, Amal gave a heartfelt speech about her husband at the 2018 American Film Institute's Life Achievement Award gala dinner at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
"I couldn't sleep when we were apart and I'm told that I would display a particular grin and head-tilt when reading his text messages or the letters he would hide in my bag," the 41-year-old human rights lawyer said, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter. "Five years later, none of that has changed. He is the person who has my complete admiration and also the person whose smile makes me melt every time. My love, what I have found with you is the great love I always hoped existed. And seeing you with our children, Ella and Alexander, is the greatest joy in my life," she added.
Amal and George Clooney first met in 2013 at a fundraising event through a mutual friend and since then, they have been spotted together on several occasions. A year later, they became engaged and were officially married on September 27, 2014, at Ca' Farsetti.
