The Dragon Ball franchise continues to be a massive success in the industry. And with how things turned out for the first season of Dragon Ball Super, it is only expected from fans to look forward to Dragon Ball Super Season 2.

According to Otakukart, the second season of the hit anime series is officially coming back for another season. It is a huge step forward, especially since many fans previously believed it would not return for good.

It is worth noting, however, that there is a rumor circulating around Dragon Ball Super Season 2. Basically, it suggests that pre-production of the next season has already started since September last year. What is more, the upcoming chapter could arrive in July.

But much to the dismay of fans, this rumor should be taken as it is. In a report from Newsweek, a representative from Toei Media named David Syatt denied the speculation. As far as he knows, there are no new episodes of the second season being produced at this time.

This is not entirely a bad news, though. The publication added that the anime has been approved for a season season, so Dragon Ball Super Season 2 is indeed happening. The only catch, however, is that a release date remains uncertain.

Aparat from the release date, details about the arc of the new season remains vague. According to fan theories, it could finally introduce the highly anticipated villain named Moro. Also, the possibility of officially announcement the second season could happen this year, particularly at the end of April - the 30th anniversary of the ever-popular Dragon Ball Z anime.

Rumors of Dragon Ball Super Season 2 first came to light sometime in January. This was during the time when World Screen wrote a spotlight on Toei at a licensing convention called the National Association of Television Program Executives or NATPE. The spotlight story claimed that Toei was making more episodes of the show.

However, the company reiterated at that time that it has no plans of producing new episodes. Considering the release of Dragon Ball Super: Broly in January 2019, it makes sense for the company to halt production and focus on the film.

Given the popularity and huge following of the show, there is every reason for Toei to purse a second season. For now, fans have to wait for an official announcement. And unless an update comes from the company itself, they need to take it with a grain of salt.
