Thousands of fans are now excited for the penultimate episode of The Walking Dead Season 9. Several spoilers, however, have revealed that fans should get ready for some heartache as the forthcoming episode will feature multiple character deaths.

The post-apocalyptic horror television series has shown multiple gruesome death scenes throughout its airing, with the latest episode Michonne (Danai Gurira) killing off her old friend Jocelyn (Rutina Wesley) by fatally stabbing her in the chest.

Fans, however, have not seen the last of the deaths just yet as the forthcoming penultimate episode of The Walking Dead Season 9 teases the much-awaited showdown of Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Alpha (Samantha Morton), the leader of the Whisperers.

In the promo for The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 15, King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) can be seen opening the much-talked-about fair at the Kingdom with all four communities - Hilltop, The Kingdom, Alexandria, and Ocean Side - in attendance.

As the promo progresses, King Ezekiel and Prince Henry (Matt Lintz) are seen saying goodbye to Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), Daryl Dixon and Michonne as they leave the Kingdom. However, the group soon find themselves ambushed by the Whisperers as the night falls. Beta (Ryan Hurst) also remarked that "no one else has to die now the deal is done."

"The fair at the Kingdom is underway, with all four communities coming together in celebration for the first time in years," the official synopsis for The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 15 reads. "While some pacts are renewed, other deals will come at a much steeper price," it added.

While what exactly lies ahead of Carol Peletier and Daryl Dixon remains unknown, several speculations and fan theories suggest the pike deaths will take place in The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 15. The Whisperers will reportedly invade the Kingdom.

While doing so, Enid (Katelyn Nacon) along with several characters will presumably be killed off. That being said, the finale episode of The Walking Dead Season 9 will follow the group as they process the aftermath of an overwhelming loss.

"In the aftermath of an overwhelming loss, the communities must brave a ferocious blizzard," the rest of The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 16 synopsis reads. "As one group deals with an enemy from within, another is forced to make a life or death decision," it added.

The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 15, titled "The Calm Before," is set to air on Sunday, March 24 at 9/8c on AMC.
