Viewers of CBS' God Friended Me will see a familiar face when the forthcoming penultimate episode airs. The spoilers and predictions for the forthcoming episode reveal the reunion of Miles Finer (Brandon Micheal Hall) and John Dove (Christopher Redman).
Before that, here is a quick recap of what happened in the latest episode of God Friended Me. Episode 17, titled "The Dragon Slayer," kicked off with Miles Finer's receiving another friend suggestion from "God" on Facebook.
This time, it was a homeless man, Ben Evans (Sharif Atkins), whose run of bad luck was getting the best of him. In an effort to change his life, Miles Finer helped him and his son, Max, find a place to live and got their car back from the impound lot. He also helped him land a decent job that pays well.
The episode also followed Miles Finer's journey as he tries to find out who is behind the Facebook account named "God." In the midst of the investigation, he was suddenly invited to join a podcast network that wants the exclusive rights to the "God" account story.
Things, however, took a sudden turn when Cara Bloom (Violett Beane) was given a chance to move up her job by interviewing Simon Hayes (Adam Goldberg) about his possible connection to the "God" account. Rakesh Singh (Suraj Sharma), on the other hand, found a link between Simon Hayes and John Dove.
With that in mind, God Friended Me Episode 18 will see Miles Finer reuniting with John Dove, his first friend suggestion. As per Carter Matt, the latter's sudden reappearance only means that he was not sent to the former at random. There is also a high chance that he knows who is behind the "God" account.
"When a package mistakenly shows up on Miles' doorstep, his search for its importance leads him to a couple grieving the loss of their daughter," the official synopsis for God Friended Me Episode 18 reads. "Also, Miles, Cara, and Rakesh reunite with John Dove (Christopher Redman), Miles' first friend suggestion, after Rakesh discovers a connection between Dove and Simon Hayes," it added.
Similarly, co-creator Steven Lilien revealed in a previous interview with TV Line that Simon Hayes' role is a huge arc. The coming episodes will also explore the character along with Pria Amar (Parminder Nagra) and Henry Chase and their involvement in the God account. All the burning questions will be answered at the much-awaited season finale.
God Friended Me Episode 18 airs on March 24 at 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT on CBS.
