Toei Animation has shut down rumors about Dragon Ball Super alleged return to the small screen after Known anime insiders confirmed its comeback. Geekdom 101 first confirmed the news, which YonKou Productions backed up. So, a lot of fans believe they will once again see their favorite series on TV, but it looks like it is not the case.
"You heard it here first. The Dragon Ball Super ANIME RETURNS to television," Geekdom101 tweeted. The series reportedly returns in July 2019. The insider even said more info would be out in the coming weeks, per Comic Book.
Yonkou Productions then tweeted to back up Geekdom101's claims. Dragon Ball Super has been reportedly in the works for quite a while now. He even said Naohiro Shintani would return as the character designer, and people behind it are now working on major animation.
However, Toei Animation shut down Geekdom101 and Yonkou Productions' claims. The animation company's media representative David Syatt told IGN there would be no new episodes of Dragon Ball Super being produced at this time.
It is not the first time Toei Animation denies Dragon Ball Super alleged return. A publication shared, but later changed, the news about the release of the anime series' new episodes. "We can only say that this is not true at the moment," it said at the time. "We never mentioned or made any announcement about more episodes to Dragon Ball Super."
Although Toei Animation denies Dragon Ball Super return, Geekdom101 and Yonkou Productions stand firm on their claims. In response to the studio, Geekdom101 posted a new video, slamming Toei Animation's denial.
Geekdom101 said Toei Animation also denied that it was trying to "sell new episodes and shop them out," asking why it kept on denying things. The insider believed the studio wanted to announce Dragon Ball Super return itself, so it was rejecting other news about it. He also claimed it wanted the comeback to become a big surprise.
Geekdom101 also cleared his credibility, saying anyone who knows him knows that he cares about his trustworthiness. He even asserted he double and triple check his news, and it is something that he has successfully done for years now. He also added he would never lie to his followers, and would never try to hurt his brand.
Hence, he insisted Dragon Ball Super would make a return in July. Toei Animation might finally confirm it in April or on Goku Day on May 9.
