Once Upon a Time In Hollywood has been a long time in the making, with director and screenwriter Quentin Tarantino working on the script for several years. The film was also inspired by his own life growing up in Los Angeles.

"I've been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old," director and screenwriter Quentin Tarantino said in a press release from Sony Pictures Entertainment. "I'm very excited to tell this story of an LA and a Hollywood that don't exist anymore. And I couldn't be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff," he added.

Once Upon a Time In Hollywood is also one of the most anticipated movies of the year since it will potentially be Quentin Tarantino's second to the last project. It can be recalled that the 55-year-old filmmaker said at the 2016 International Jerusalem Film Festival that he planned to retire after his 10th film.

Once Upon a Time In Hollywood is set to open in theaters across the United States on July 26 and on Aug. 14 in the United Kingdom.
