Series ratings are essential components to every show's standings. And most of the time they are one the apparent indicators if the show will still proceed to release further installments. Sadly for Shadowhunters, its latest episode has the lowest rating for this season. It could be even the least viewed episode for season 3, according to critics.
The reason behind is still unknown as the fourteenth episode was just aired last March 18. And not to mention, the show just got back from its mid-season break which started in May of 2018. So, it seemingly appears that the fans of series are not entirely excited to welcome its comeback.
But even so, for those who have binge-watched the third season of Shadowhunters, it is believed that the A Kiss From A Rose is one of the most action-filled episodes this season.
Starting from Maia and Jordan's reconciliation after Heidi's attack, they were rescued by Luke and Simon. In this scenario alone, a lot of things had happened already, especially when the police arrived at the scene.
Then there was Clary and Jace's date in a skating rink which is pretty romantic that gave the episode a lighter tone. However, this date was ambushed by Jonathan and knocked Jace unconsciously. This gave him time to shift his appearance to look like Jace. And unknowingly, Clary was fooled.
As for Magnus and Lorenzo, the two had an agreement concerning the former's magic and apartment. Although Lorenzo agreed to Magnus wishes, he warned him that there would be risks. And on the other note, they went with Alec to find the location of the Morning Star sword only to find out that Jonathan might use the real one as they get to the replica of the sword.
In the near end of Shadowhunters, Clary, along with Isabelle and Jace, went on to attack Jonathan for what he did. But little did they know that Jonathan was prepared which resulted in him walking away from the attack. After these events, Clary shared to Jace that she felt violated when Jonathan kissed him using Jace's appearance.
With these events at hand, the latest episode of Shadowhunters only goes to show that it is still filled with action and thrill that every viewer would want to see in the series.
And even if it garnered a very low rating in comparison to the other episodes for this season, it has been revealed that the sample taken for the numbers is quite limited and small as per Cartermatt.
Hence, there is no way for this current rating to affect the standing of the show.
