It is better to open our eyes to see what Josh Malerman, the author of the 2014 post-apocalyptic novel Bird Box, has to offer after the success of the Netflix film which was adapted to his debut novel. While the Bird Box viewers were busy watching the movie that trended worldwide, most of the netizens have used their creativity in making it as a challenge, which has been banned already by authorities due to its dangerous outcome.

Bird Box has left its viewers wondering what the mystery behind the creatures that has urged all of its victims to end their lives is. Would you want to see it for yourself to find out?

No need to worry on seeing it when viewers can read it first on the Bird Box book sequel Josh Malerman has written. Malorie came as a gift to Malerman due to the favorable response of its viewers and even critics saying that Bird Box has provided "strong acting and an effectively chilly mood" despite its "thin screenplay." It was also described as a "movie that has moments of true, delightful, fright, but it also has some of the corniness and shallowness that many horror movies can't shake." With that, The Visual Effects Society Awards last February 9 awarded the Netflix film as Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature.

In the sequel novel Malorie, it will focus on Sandra Bullock's character which was not discussed in the first movie. Also, the sequel will explain more on what was initially known about the creatures. Although comments from the viewers came while he was writing the sequel, the questions were more on what had happened to Boy and Girl. However, Josh Malerman says that "the Bird Box world is Malorie's story, and I wanted to know more about her. I wanted to get to know her even better."

It seems that after Malorie and the kids have found sanctuary at a former school for the visually impaired at the end of the first novel and movie, the new setting brought them forward to 8 years after the original story's end, around the river bend.

As expected, Malorie will still have the haunting creatures that portray a person's worst fears, more so, Josh Malerman, the author prefers to tackle more about what happened to Malorie and the creatures, thus little will be mentioned about Girl and Boy who should be teenagers by that time. While a film for Malorie cannot be ascertained, there's a pretty good chance that it'll happen anyway given the astonishing viewing numbers Bird Box pulled in in the first week alone. Watch out at the leading bookstore for Malorie, the book sequel for Bird Box which will be released on October 1, 2019.
